About Alex Scott "Comedy Dad"
Alex Scott is a high-energy comedian who has the ability to connect with any crowd with his wide variety of content on different subject matters. Alex was born and raised in the small town of Culpeper, Virginia. After leaving home, Alex spent six years serving his country in the United States Air Force where he started chasing his dream of being a stand-up comedian in Washington, D.C., which has produced great comedians such as Dave Chappelle and Martin Lawrence.
The first time Alex ever touched the mic, he won second place in the DC Comedian of the Year contest, which made him realized he had a gift to make people laugh. This was the motivation that drove Alex to move to New York City and try to take his career to the next level. Although the road was hard to build creditability in New York, Alex kept chasing his dreams even though at times he was homeless and alone. Not giving up on his dream, Alex ended up breaking into the hottest comedy clubs in New York such as StandUp NY, The Boston Comedy Club, and the Uptown Comedy Club. Alex also broke into Hollywood as well performing at some of biggest clubs in LA including The Comedy Store, Comedy Magic, Flappers Comedy Club and as a paid regular at The World Famous “Laugh Factory.”
Being able to make people laugh coast to coast helped Alex secure TV credits on such shows as HBO’s “Def Comedy Jam” (hosted by DL Hughley), BET’s “Coming To the Stage” (hosted by Mark Curry), BET’s "Comic View" (hosted by Rickey Smiley, Sheryl Underwood and Kevin Hart), NUVO TV’s “Stand and Deliver,” and Bounce TV’s “Off The Chain.” You can also catch Alex online at ComedyTime.com and LaughFactory.com where his videos have added up to nearly 1 million views or in your neighborhood Redbox with a cameo in Shaq’s All Star Comedy series.
Alex has also started breaking into the acting side of Hollywood by landing his first role in a Graphic Novel, “Tainted Love”, adapted for film and directed by Orlando Jones alongside Eric Roberts, Jim Jefferies and Maz Jabroni. He also makes regular appearances on TV ONE’s NewsOne with Roland Martin.
Now married with two beautiful kids, Alex has become “The Comedy Dad,” dedicating his life to his family plus juggling a blossoming career. You don’t want to miss your chance to see one of the hottest comedians in the country talk about what everyday people go through during their everyday lives!
